colour used in automobile wiring
a) Black
(B)
b) Brown
(N)
c) Yellow
(Y)

Black
colour is used for return and earth leads connection.

Brown (N)
Brown
is used for the battery feed wires such as,
i.
Battery to ammeter
ii.
Battery to regulator
iii.
Battery to light and ignition switch
iv.
Battery to fuses or switches or any
electrical accessories
v.
Brown is also used in some cases as the
main colour for leads (wires) between dynamo to regulator and charge warning
lamp.

Yellow colour is a substitute to brown for
dynamo circuit from dynamo regulator (control
box) and between the dynamo charge warning lamps

colour is used for the head lamp circuit from lighting switch to head lamp.

colour is used for the feeds from the lightning switch to side and tail lamps,
fog lamps, panel light and rear number plate lamp.

accessories from control box.

colour is used for all feeds from ignition switch.
